CULTIVATION

It is the sole company which has a tea plantation in Colombia. The crops are located in climatic conditions, which make possible to yield a sort of tea of an excellent aroma and flavor; between 1850 and 2000 msnm, height at which the best world’s teas are cultivated.

The tea and herbal tea crops benefit from ideal environmental conditions, moreover that they are in the middle of the Himalaya Natural Reserve and for the irrigation we use non contaminated spring water.

The manufacturing process of tea and herbal teas is carried out fulfilling the highest quality and hygiene standards complying with the good manufacturing practices.

The leaves are manually harvested and processed according to the CTC method with technology and machinery imported from India. Is its important to highlight that in the manufacturing of tea and herbal tea products no chemicals are added, therefore all our products are 100% natural and healthy.

We are the only company of tea and herbal tea products company in Colombia and one of the few in Latin America in getting the certification. In the year 2002 we were awarded the ISO 9001 version 2000 quality management certification by the Colombian Institute of Technical Norms – ICONTEC, member of the International Certification Network – IQNET.

Agricola Himalaya offers employment to over 150 families of the city of Cali and the rural communities of Bitaco and Chicoral, where it is the biggest employment source. It has also an employee’s fund, therefore our workers participate in the progress and development of our company.

We are a company committed with the protection of our environment, preserving our native forest and the environmental equilibrium of the zone, supporting environmental programs and promoting education and recreation for the region’s children.
